The small tyrolean village of Niederau is located in the picturesque "Wildschonau" - "Wild and Beautiful" valley. The village is surrounded by green hills, and its own mountain the "Markbachjoch", gives it a truely wonderful and peaceful setting. Niederau's even smaller neighbour Oberau, is only 3 km's away, and further to the end of the Wildschonau is the hamlet of Auffach.
In the summer there are lots of valley and hill walks, ans also more challenging hikes to mountain peaks. In the winter the valley offers good runs for both beginner and intermediate skiers, with several advanced runs and off-piste routes for the more demanding skier.
